Get a work-out and walk your dog at the same time at Hillandale Park. The 1.3-mile walking trail in the park features 11 pieces of exercise equipment to help you get a total body workout on your daily dog walk. Conveniently located right here in Harrisonburg, Hillandale is a great place for both you and your dog to burn off some extra calories!

Purcell Park also allows you to enjoy the beauty and charm of Harrisonburg while walking your dog. In addition to a 1.5-mile walking trail, the Blue Stone Trail also runs through the park, connecting you to James Madison University and many of Harrisonburg’s favorite businesses. This paved trail not only allows you to explore Harrisonburg on foot: it also provides a safe surface for smaller or senior pets who prefer an easier walk.

When it’s time for some off-leash fun and socializing, take your dog to the Smithland Road Dog Park. This large dog park offers separate spaces for large dogs and small dogs, making it easy for every pup to find a safe place to play.
