Every Thanksgiving, Harrisonburg hosts the Rocktown Turkey Trot—a cherished tradition combining fitness, community, and festive spirit. Participants of all ages and skill levels take to the streets downtown for a scenic 4‑mile run through Court Square (the course is a 2‑mile loop repeated). Before the main run, children enjoy the Gobble Gobble Kids Dash—a joyful short sprint that lets the youngest runners shine amidst the excitement of the day.
